Radio and Television in Russia

Most families in Russia have a radio. I listen to the radio very often. Maximum programs are on the air from six in the morning until twelve o'clock at night. Among the programmes their are comments and discussions, interviews with people, broadcast for schools, serious and light music and short plays. A special programme consists of informative talks and instructions in subjects such as foreign languages, gardening, cooking, bringing up children. Television, often called TV or the telly, is very popular in Russia. Television programmes are broadcast 24 hours a day. People are able to watch TV events, foreign news, interviews with famous people, educational programmes, theatrical and musical performances.
